Ronald Leroy Shelley, 76, of Creston and Mission, Texas, died Jan. 23, 2014, at a Texas hospital, after a brief illness.
Ron and his wife Beverly lived most of their married life in the Creston area.
Ron was employed as an electrician at REC in Corning, at Wellmans and lastly as a regional manager for Rug Doctor in Creston.
Ron was a lifelong member of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and spent 10 years in the Spanish language ministry in the Des Moines area.
Ron kept bees at their home east of town and sold honey from there and in town.
Ron is survived by his son Timothy Shelley of Creston, daughter Diana (husband Dan) Curtis of Creston, sister Beverly (husband Ronald) Scott of Guthrie Center, brother-in-law James (wife Janis) Peckham of Des Moines; sisters-in-law, Janice Parker, Joyce Chapman and Linda (husband Steve) Johnson, all of Creston; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
Ron was proceeded in death by his wife, daughter-in-law Debbie Shelley and granddaughter-in-law Shawnna Curtis, all formerly of Creston; parents, Max and Helen Shelley, formerly of Guthrie Center; and parents-in-law Minor and Naomi Peckham, formerly of Greenfield.
