MARSHALLTOWN — The Southern Prairie YMCA Stingrays, with four swimmers from Osceola and two from Creston, competed at the Iowa YMCA State Swim Meet here on Sunday, March 3.
Competing for the Stingrays were Yahia Aly, Ali Aly, Yusuf Aly and Omar Aly of Osceola and David Qualseth and Jacob Walter of Creston.
Yahia Aly placed seventh in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 55.08 seconds, eighth in the 200 yard individual medley in 2:22.40 and 10th in the 100 yard butterfly in 1:05.27.
Ali Aly finished 18th in the 200 yard backstroke with his time of 2:43.17.
Yusuf Aly finished 12th in the 50 yard freestyle in :30.12 and Omar Aly placed 36th in the 50 yard freestyle in 35.61.
The 200 yard medley relay team of Ali Aly, David Qualseth, Yahia Aly and Jacob Walter finished ninth.
Ali Aly split a :35.36 in the 50 yard backstroke leg, while Qualseth swam the 50 yard breaststroke leg in :42.60, Yahia Aly split a :27.70 in the 50 fly and Walter swam a :38.10 in the 50 yard freestyle leg.
