Terry Buckner, 63, of Greenfield died Oct. 29, 2011, at Adair County Memorial Hospital in Greenfield.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fontanelle. Burial will be in Greenfield Cemetery. The Rev. Ernest Baiotto will officiate the service. Full military graveside rites will be conducted by Fontanelle American Legion Carlson Post No. 247, Greenfield American Legion Head-Endres Post No. 265 and V.F.W. Post No. 5357. Visitation will be noon to 8 p.m. today with family present 4 to 8 p.m. at Steen Funeral Home, 101 S.E. Fourth St., Greenfield. Memorials may be directed to the family. Terry Lee Buckner, son of Margaret Ann (Knorr) and G. Leon Buckner, was born Sept. 5, 1948, in Adair County.
On May 28, 1977, Terry married Ardith Lewis at Fairview Congregational Christian Church with the Rev. George Thurman officiating.
He worked for Don Carlos Law Office and then opened Buckner Accounting and worked the past 30 years as a self-employed accountant, before retiring this year for health reasons.
Terry is survived by his wife Ardith Buckner of Greenfield; children, Shane Buckner of Greenfield, Wendi Buckner of Marquand, Mo., and Trent Buckner of Woodbine; grandchildren, Austin Buckner, Mikel Spainhower, Amber Spainhower and Taren Buckner; brothers, Larry (wife Wanda) Buckner of Adair, Cecil (wife Linda) Buckner of Des Moines, Bob (wife Gloria) Buckner of South English and Scott (wife Linda) Buckner of North English; and sisters, Cindy (husband Mike) Chafa of Stuart and Patty Ingle (spouse Brenda) of Runnells.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents; brother Howard Max Buckner; and sister Beth Ann Barlow.
