If you are planning an vacation across the state of Iowa this summer, instead of grabbing a map, Carson Ode’s “Iowa - Spaces, Places & Faces” might be a better start.
Carson and his wife Connie visited the Orient Public Library Monday afternoon to promote their book and offer to sign copies for locals in attendance.
“She (Connie) had contacted me and asked if the library would like a copy of the book,” said Sharon Mensing, director of the public library in Orient. “After sending a copy, I asked if they ever did any book signings, and they offered to come down and visit.”
Readers get the chance to hop in the passenger seat with the Odes and travel all across Iowa, seeing local communities first hand, thanks to Carson’s photography, and learn about each city and its rich history.
The duo shared some of their travel experiences with the group and answered questions about various parts of Iowa.
