Creston Police report - April 18, 2024

Jeffrey D. Drake, 36, of Creston, was taken into custody April 16 on a Union County warrant for three counts of violation of no contact/protective order.

According to Creston Police reports, at approximately 11:30 a.m. March 20 Drake sent text messages to a protected party listed in three active no contact orders against Drake.

At approximately 6 p.m. Drake went to the protected party’s place of employment where the daughter of the protected party was waiting outside for her mother to get off work. Drake approached the juvenile and asked her to pass messages to the protected party.

At approximately 6:37 p.m. March 22, Drake parked behind the vehicle of the protected party after she pulled into her driveway. He walked up to the driver’s side window and started talking to the protected party, who told him to leave.

Drake was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting 10% of a $900 cash or surety bond.

Bradford G. Boyer, 24, of Kent, was taken into custody 12:55 p.m. April 17, at 806 Laurel Street on the charge of possession of a controlled substance - marijuana, first offense.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 12:25 p.m. officers stopped a 2000 Toyota Tacoma for having excessive window tint. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Boyer, and the overwhelming odor of raw marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle. A probable cause search of truck was conducted, during which, officers located a clear plastic baggie containing marijuana, hidden under the center console.

Boyer was transported to Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $1,000 cash or surety bond.

Adam E. L. Austin, 27, of Creston, was taken into custody 4:52 p.m. April 17, in the 100 block of North Elm Street on a Union County warrant for the charge of domestic abuse assault, third or subsequent offense.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 2:55 p.m. April 12, a domestic assault was reported in the 100 block of Manor Drive. The caller reported Austin and Austin’s exgirlfriend were fighting. When officers arrived, Austin, who was said to be intoxicated, had fled the scene after learning law enforcement had been notified.

Officers spoke with the victim who said she and Austin had recently broken up. Austin showed up at her residence and assaulted her by kicking her in the arm and punching her in the stomach. The victim had prominent marks on her, including a shoe print, consistent with the story told to officers.

Austin has prior domestic assault convictions in December 2020 and January 2022 in Union County.

Austin was transported to the Union County Jail and held without bond until seen by the magistrate.
