Jeanette Ford, 82, of Orient, died Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Westview of Indianola Care Center, surrounded by family.

Jeanette Ford, 82, of Orient, died Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the Westview of Indianola Care Center surrounded by family. Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 30, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Steve Johnson will officiate. Services will be livestreamed at a link under the obituary at www.powersfh.com. Burial will be at the Hill of Zion Cemetery, east of Orient. Jeanette, daughter of Marvin Corley and Yetive (Edwards) Corley, was born June 10, 1941, in North Hodge, Louisiana. She married Gerald “Jake” Ford on July 28, 1962, at the Baptist Church in Hodge, Louisiana. They lived for a short time in California when Jake was stationed at Oxnard Air Force Base. Shortly after their first son Michael was born in 1963, they moved to Zion and then to Orient, where they continued farming to this day.

She was a homemaker, raising her children and enjoyed gardening and canning. Jeanette had a strong and deep faith and was a long-time member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Jeanette is survived by her husband, Gerald “Jake” Ford and her children: Michael (Julie) Ford of Milo, Amanda Noble of Indianola, Crystal Conley of Creston, Andrea (Mike) Kennedy of Fremont and Gary (Melissa) Ford of Greenfield; 12 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
