Loreen K. Miller, 78, of Creston, died Friday, March 22, 2024, at her home in Creston.

Loreen K. Miller, 78, of Creston, died Friday, March 22, 2024, at her home in Creston. Celebration of Life services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 27 at Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Avenue in Creston. Pastor William Richardson will officiate. Visitation, with family receiving friends, will be from 10:30 to 11 a.m., Wednesday.

Loreen Kay (Goddard) Erskine Miller was born Aug. 29, 1945, to Ralph Edward Goddard and Vera Irene Patterson in Creston. She graduated from Creston High School in 1963.

On Aug. 9, 1980, Loreen was united in marriage to Gerald Lester Erskine in Creston. They lived in Creston, where Loreen was a waitress at Inez’s Café in the Iowana Hotel. She was a homemaker and active mother and worked at Kmart. She managed Dollar General, later returning to Kmart. She worked for S.U.R.F, managed Taco John’s in Creston and was a security guard at Trolli in Creston.

Loreen was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Creston.

Survivors include her daughters, Debbie (Ben) Moffitt and Michelle (Rob) Schultz; two stepdaughters, Virnita (Jeff) Scott and Shawna (Ron) Meath; one brother, Ralph (Christy) Goddard Jr.; many grandchildren and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gerald Erskine in 1993; her sister, Doris Goddard; son, Richard Draper; mother-in-law, Mildred “Babe” Erskine; grandson, Justin Scott and special friend, Bill Jump.
