New Greenfield clinic holds ribbon cutting, open house

Officials with Greater Regional's Greenfield Medical Clinic cut the ribbon on their new office Friday, May 3, joined by Greenfield Chamber Main Street and City of Greenfield officials.

The Greenfield Medical Clinic, operated by Greater Regional Health in Creston, opened its doors on the west side of the Greenfield square Monday, Feb. 12. Since opening, providers and leaders of the clinic have been pleased with the response as they become part of a new community.

The Greenfield Medical Clinic held a ribbon cutting with Greenfield Chamber Main Street and City of Greenfield officials Friday, May 3, with an open house, tours of their facility and refreshments.

The clinic is housed in the former NAPA/Wallace Auto building.

“I’ve been super excited for us to start the clinic and get rolling with it to provide that access and choice to the community,” said Laura Hagen, a family nurse practitioner who is a provider at the clinic.

“What I provide is care to those who are newborns up to the oldest there is — preventative care, prenatal care, podiatry is something I’ll start in June,” Hagen added.

Dr. Demi Eble, a family medicine doctor who is the other provider here, agreed, saying the beauty of primary care practicing is a provider gets to do a variety of things and serve a variety of needs.

Eble grew up in Greenfield, graduating from Nodaway Valley in 2012. To be home serving patients in her hometown — some of them she has known her whole life — is a good feeling, she said.

“You can do a little bit of everything and nothing gets boring,” Eble said of being a primary care provider. “I’m very excited to come back and take care of the people I grew up with. It’s a life goal completed.”

Greater Regional Health CEO Monte Neitzel was pleased to be a part of the ribbon cutting. He is excited for the care his staff will continue to provide to Greenfield and Adair County residents.

“We’re ecstatic to be a part of downtown Greenfield and provide services within Adair County,” Neitzel said. “With us providing care to a lot of people within Adair County, we have around 20% of the market [being from Adair County]. We felt that for us to be able to address those issues of access, quality and choice, Greenfield was an ideal spot where we always talked about having a clinic. To make an investment downtown, we want to be here and we want to give people an option and a choice.”
