Community Lenten services end next week

Mary O’Riley delivered an exemplary message on “Eyes to See Our Needs” last Sunday for the community Lenten service at the First Presbyterian Church titled “The Eyes Have It.” The largest crowd to date for this year was blessed by the service, and the lunch which followed.

This coming Sunday, March 29, the service will be 5 p.m. at Crest Baptist Church on Townline. The Rev. Chuck Spindler, pastor there, will lead the service. The Rev. Jim Woodworth will bring the message, “Hearts Beating with Love,” and there will be a time of fellowship and refreshment following the service.

And then, at noon Friday, April 3, the series for 2015 will conclude with the Good Friday observance of the Union County Ministerial Alliance. The Rev. Ken Halbur will officiate and the Rev. Brian Jack, new pastor at Salem Lutheran, will bring the final message of the theme “The Body of Christ.”

The refreshment time, appropriate for Good Friday, will be served during the fellowship time following the service.
