No citations were issued after an accident 12:42 p.m. Saturday on Highway 25.
According to a Union County Sheriff report, Leann Ruth Baker, 79, of Clearfield, driving a 2008 Buick east on Highway 25, lost control because of snowy road conditions, crossed the roadway to the north and struck Iowa Department of Transportation guard rail cables.
Damage estimates are $2,500 to Baker’s vehicle and $1,000 to the guard rail cables.

No citations were issued after an accident 2:46 p.m. Saturday at Walmart, 806 Laurel St.
According to a Creston Police report, Adam William Abell, 30, of Macksburg, driving a 2009 Ford, and Dean Theodore Carson, 77, 1525 Clover Ave., driving a 2000 Ford, both backed out in a northern direction from opposite parked positions in the parking lot of Walmart, failed to see the other vehicle backing out and struck each other.
Damage estimates are $1,000 to Abell’s vehicle and $600 to Carson’s vehicle.
