Virginia Fenn, 90, of Murray died Aug. 22, 2014, at her daughter’s home in Louisburg, Kan.

Celebration of life services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, at Powers Funeral Home, 612 N. Dodge St., Afton. Burial will be in Murray Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to hospice or Murray United Methodist Church. Virginia Marian (Garrett) Fenn, daughter of Florence Ruth (Kirk) and Marion Ning Garrett, was born Aug. 20, 1924, in Osceola.

Virginia was educated at Madison Country School No. 5, known as “Brush College” in Clarke County, and graduated from Murray High School in 1942. She went on to teach at a country school for a year.

On May 16, 1943, Virginia married Everett Lewis Fenn in Murray.

Virginia went on to teach one more year of country school. They settled and lived and worked all of their married life on a farm northwest of Murray.

Virginia was a homemaker and farmwife.

Virginia was a member of the United Methodist Church in Murray.

Virginia is survived by her son Max Fenn of Murray; daughter Kathy (husband Dan) Robertson of Louisburg, Kan.; grandchildren, Daren (wife Kelly) Robertson, Jennifer (husband Chris) Clearwater and Brittany Hamilton; great-grandchildren, Shelby, Brook, Derrick, Ethan, Cooper and Kimleigh; sisters, Ruth Burnett of Murray and Edna Marriott of Polk City; sister-in-law Joyce Garrett of Osceola; and many other family members.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband in January 2004; and brothers, Franklin, Wesley, Donald and Charles Garrett.
