David Lynn McMullen, 51, 300 N. Maple St., was charged with fifth-degree theft 3:22 p.m. Friday at Walmart, 806 Laurel St.

According to a Creston Police report, officers were dispatched to Walmart in reference to an ongoing employee theft case. Upon arrival, officers met with loss prevention employees who said McMullen had taken food items several times without paying for them. There was surveillance of this occurring.

McMullen was released on promise to appear.

Lorie Cooper Lee, 53, of Bridgewater was charged with fifth-degree theft 3:29 p.m. Friday at Walmart, 806 Laurel St.

According to a Creston Police report, officers were dispatched to Walmart in reference to an ongoing theft case. Upon arrival, officers met with loss prevention employees who said Lee had taken items from the food department without paying for them. She had been caught on camera, and wrote an admission statement.

Lee was released on promise to appear.

Monica Pettit, 29, 1501 N. Lincoln St. Apt. 9, was charged on a Union County warrant for credit card fraud 4:07 p.m. Saturday at Union County Law Enforcement Center.

According to a Creston Police report, officers were dispatched July 31 to speak to a female who had several charges on her credit card she did not know about. There were purchases to Walmart, Casey’s, Dollar General and McDonald’s, all in Creston. The victim believed it was her granddaughter Pettit who had taken the card without permission and used it. Officers interviewed Pettit and she admitted to using the card and explained what she bought at each location.

Pettit was released on $2,000 bond.

Jason Donald Willey, 32, 615 N. Mulberry St., was charged on a Department of Corrections warrant for probation violation 6:32 p.m. Saturday at Union County Law Enforcement Center.

Willey was being held in Ringgold County Jail for Union County without bond awaiting appearance before the magistrate.

Andrew Lewis Carney, 55, 313 N. Maple St., was charged with second-offense operating while intoxicated and two counts of child endangerment 12:10 a.m. Sunday at Union County Law Enforcement Center.

According to a Creston Police report, Carney was stopped for traffic violations, and during the stop officers could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage and noticed that Carney’s speech was slurred. Carney admitted to drinking a six-pack and consented to field sobriety testing. He showed significant signs of impairment during the test. Carney consented to a preliminary breath test, with a result above .08. Carney consented to a Data Master test, with a result above .08. Carney also placed a minor child in danger by operating a motor vehicle, in which the child was a passenger, while impaired by alcohol.

Carney was released on $2,000 bond.
