Bonnie Pulliam, 74, of Creston died Aug. 20, 2014, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

LaVonne C. “Bonnie” Pulliam, daughter of Viva Leano (Leach) and Johnston Reed McDonald, was born Feb. 25, 1940, in Afton.

Bonnie graduated from Afton High School in 1958 and later went on to graduate from Phoenix Junior College with a degree in business.

On August 3, 1963, Bonnie married Anthony Dominic Carnovale in Phoenix, Ariz.

Bonnie worked at nursing homes as the activity director.

Bonnie and Anthony later divorced.

In 1981, Bonnie married Jack Pulliam in Las Vegas, Nev. They made their home in Tempe, Ariz.

Bonnie owned and operated a commercial and residential cleaning business for many years.

Jack later died in 1992.

Bonnie moved to Creston in 2010.

Bonnie was a member of the United Methodist Church in Phoenix and sang in the choir.

Bonnie is survived by her daughters, Rosemary (Glen) Spalding of Glendale, Ariz., and Toni Carnovale of Phoenix, Ariz.; son John Carnovale of Cherokee Village, Ark.; first-born daughter Valarie (husband Andy) Allen of Creston (adopted out to Uncle Dean and Aunt Donna McDonald); eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister Ruby Dibel of Creston; brother Dale McDonald of Afton; and sisters-in-law, Donna McDonald of Diagonal and Beulah McDonald of Creston.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jack; granddaughter Kira Spalding; brothers, Francis, LeRoy, LaVern, J.R., Wayne and Dean McDonald; and sisters, Leona Kirkland and Elenor Hammans.
