Adair County Historical Society Tractor Ride rescheduled

GREENFIELD — The Adair County Historical Society fifth annual Heritage Tractor Ride is now on for Aug. 9. The ride, originally scheduled for June 28, was postponed because of weather.

Ride plans will remain the same, with the “Steady as a Rock” tour starting with breakfast at the Heritage Center on the west edge of Greenfield at 8 a.m. Tractors will depart at 9 a.m. and head to Freedom Rock for their first break.

From there, they will travel to Adair for lunch in the Adair City Park. Sights along the way will include a road-side tour of a Schildberg's Quarry and historic Rosserdale.
Lunch of burgers and brats will be available in Adair for riders and the public by the Adair Lions Club at the park's Snack Shack. Folks are encouraged to join the riders on the noon break to view the tractors and support the Lions.

The return trip will feature a stop at Slayton’s Rock south of Casey.

Riders may register in advance by picking up a form at various locations in the community, or they can register the morning of the ride. Registration fee is $10 and includes breakfast.
